Here at Rainbows Hospice, we support the hospital to home transition for medically stable children & young people, requiring long term ventilation, who might otherwise need to remain on an intensive or high dependency care area through our Long-Term Ventilation and Step-Down Team.
We are currently seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Hospice Care Assistant to join our Long-Term Ventilation and Step-Down Team, providing 1-2-1 care for babies, children and young people who have a range of complex needs including long term ventilation of either a tracheostomy tube (invasive) or via a face mask/nasal cannula (non-invasive).
This role is based at the Hospice on Lark Rise, Loughborough, and will require you to work on a rota pattern of shifts covering 24/7 care.

Within this role, you will also support the Care Team with palliative and/or specialist respite care when required.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working with babies, children and/or young people with ventilation needs, and ideally understand what a tracheostomy tube is or a non-invasive ventilation route of face mask/nasal cannula. You will also be able to demonstrate a high standard of clinical care with the understanding of complex care needs. It is essential for the candidate to have effective communication skills as well as the ability to work under supervision and independently, recognising your own limits.
