Rainbows hospice in Loughborough, is the only children’s hospice in the East Midlands, we provide specialist end-of-life, palliative and respite care to babies, children and young people (BCYP) with conditions that means their lives may be shorter than most. In order to provide this excellent care, we strive to support, develop and educate our nursing staff and HCA’s, ensuring the level of knowledge, skills and competence required is developed and maintained.

Within our clinical education team, providing this development to our clinical staff, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Nurse or Physio to join us as a Clinical Skills Facilitator.

Focusing on Ventilation and Respiratory Support, you will facilitate and deliver training of clinical skills to the Care Team who are every day dealing with the increasingly complex technical needs of our babies, children and young people. You will be an effective role model and provide support in building the Care Team’s competencies and confidence.

This role is part time 22.5 hours per week over 3 days with need for flexibility in line with our service needs. There may be times when you will need to work twilight nights or early mornings in line with clinical staff’s rotas.

This role will be based at our Hospice on Lark Rise, Loughborough.

Requirements

It is essential for this role that you are a registered Nurse or qualified Physiotherapist with experience of complex respiratory support and invasive ventilation skills, working with children who have complex needs. You will have managerial, organisational and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff members within their clinical skills development and education.

It would be desirable for you to have experience working within palliative care and the ability to develop relevant education and training agendas/resources.
